International Comfort Food in downtown Chicago
Lloyd’s Chicago’s menu focuses heavily on flavor and fresh ingredients. The flavors of home have influenced the menu over the years. Mexican dishes have been trending lately in the restaurant industry and Lloyd’s Chicago has had its finger on that pulse for years.
Tacos, Enchilada, and much more….
Mexican food is becoming more and more popular because of its delicate balance of sweet, savory, and smoky flavors. Combined with spices and slow braising of meats that makes Mexican inspired dishes so irresistible.
At Lloyd’s, we offer Steak Tacos with steak that has been marinated in house seasonings and spices. These break down the meat during the marinating process making the meat mouthwatering and full of flavor. We top these tacos off with fresh pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, tomato, guacamole, sour cream, green salsa crumbled queso fresco, and Spanish rice.
Fish tacos are also on the rise, especially during Lenten season, but Lloyd’s Chicago has it perfected. We take Georges Bank haddock and marinate it in house seasonings and spices overnight. The next day the seasoned haddock is dredged in a beer batter and flashed fried. We layer this crispy haddock with homemade tequila aioli (rich and tangy), fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, red & green cabbage, and Spanish rice.
Lloyd’s Chicago serves up sultry Chicken Enchiladas with a homemade poblano sauce topped with queso fresco and served with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, guacamole, and Spanish rice. Poblanos are Mexico’s favorite chili pepper. Traditionally, the poblano is ripened and dried becoming the well-known “Ancho”. Poblanos may be more familiar when they are stuffed, battered and then fried, which is known as chiles rellenos. Poblanos are thick, mildly-hot pepper with a rich mellow flavor. Our Chef at Lloyd’s adds cream and spices to the roasted poblano pepper to make a rich and hearty sauce for our Chicken Enchiladas.
