Environment friendly paper straws-How Lloyd’s Chicago is ditching the plastic

Plastic straws are now a thing of the past at Lloyd’s Chicago. We have moved onto environment friendly paper straws. You may have noticed the change in the past couple visits after sipping on an after work cocktail or soda at lunch. As a matter of fact, Lloyd’s Chicago is rolling out a new green initiative to ditch plastic for recyclable paper products.

Our reasons

Lloyd’s Chicago is also known for American comfort food and our high quality of seafood dishes. Moreover, the seafood available at Lloyd’s come from the coastal waters of the United States and is flown in daily. Not to mention, to support the fishermen and insure the sustainability of seafood in the future, Lloyd’s has chosen to purchase disposables that are paper not plastic. In addition, our paper products are recyclable and are environmentally friendly.

Atlantic Salmon

Lake Superior Whitefish

Availability: Year round, harder to get in the winter when the traps freeze over

Gulf White Shrimp

Going Green

You will notice whether you are taking home leftovers from the restaurant or getting your to-go items from Lloyd’s Express, paper bags that are recyclable and reusable are provided. We are finally ditching the plastics at the bar as well. Paper straws, drink mixers, toothpicks, and to go containers are all paper or recyclable.
